Through the Wire

I currently have 3 different video game systems plugged into my television and I only read comic books. Normally this isn’t a problem, but tomorrow I am getting braces and it puts these two facts in a whole new context. I am 12 again.

I agonized over the decision to get braces. The big problem for me was the thought of turning 30 and having braces. I am still not really comfortable with that idea, but the more I thought about braces, the more I hated my teeth, and that led to my appointment tomorrow.

I have been told that the type of braces that I am getting are not noticeable farther than 3 feet away from me. I don’t really believe that.

Oh, and I will have to wear rubber bands as well.

What does this mean for you gentle reader? First, I anticipate that the having metal on my mouth will propel me to Kanye Westesque heights, so you should take this opportunity to suck up to me now. Also, Wednesday at Dahlak will give you the first opportunity to come out and make fun of me in person!

Charles! just be sure that your orthodontist is a periodontist as well, when I was a kid the only thing my orthodontist cared about was making my teeth fit the mold he saw in magazines with no regards for the internal architecture of my teeth/gums/etc.., it’s looking like I’ll need to get some kind of gum tissue replacement surgery later on
