Support the Writers’ Strike

If you are at all a fan of movies, television, or general principles of fairness, you should support the writers’ strike. For those, not familiar with the principles, here’s what this strike is about:

It may seem like a frivolous cause, but I think it’s an important one for everyone. Each of us has a favorite movie or TV show, something that we feel has really added value to our lives. At some point, that movie or show, or the line from it that you and your friends quote all the time, was inside the writer’s head. Shouldn’t writers be compensated fairly for that? They want 8 cents per DVD - 8 cents!

Please don’t ignore this cause. Unless you’re a fan of bad reality TV and/or insipid game shows. Or you hate good movies. In which case, you can fornicate yourself with an iron stick (to paraphrase Family Guy, whose creator is also out on strike).

    Yay!! That’s right, Spencer!

    Support Artistic Justice!

Down with the corporate demigods and cheapass media moguls! They only care about the financial profit to buy bigger mansions, boats, islands, and jets. That’s why they are happy to churn out mass-produced garbage.

Don’t let them rot your mind with reality TV sludge and movie remakes! Entertainment should not be an inexpensive, homogenous commodity!

Appreciate the people who produce imaginative insights and laughter; the ones who are dedicated to innovation.

Support the writers or creativity and comedy will die!
